Kucinich Settles Olive Pit Lawsuit

Rep. Dennis Kucinich has settled his lawsuit over biting into an olive pit in a sandwich at a federal cafteria, breaking his tooth and requiring multiple dental procedures. While the amount is confidential, he says it covers his out-of-pocket expenses.

"I feel that the defendants have responded fairly and reasonably," Kucinich said. "I don't want to have to make another dental visit for a very long time and will be making no further comment on this matter."

After filing the lawsuit, Kucinich released the following details: [More...]

Dennis Kucinich Drops Out, No Endorsement

Congressman Dennis Kucinich has dropped out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. He won't endorse another candidate.

He had great positions on issues. I've always appreciated his willingness to run a race he knew he couldn't win in an effort to get his message across.

I hope people listened. I know I did.

NV. Judge Says No to Debate Without Kucinich

Dennis Kucinich scores a win in Nevada. A judge ruled today that the MSNBC Democratic debate tomorrow night cannot go forward unless Kucinich is allowed to participate.

Kucinich, whose position on issues most closely matches my own, is a necessary voice. He knows, as do we all, he can't win. But he gets people thinking. And that's a start to real change.

Congrats, Mr. Kucinich. I look forward to hearing your remarks tomorrow night.

Kucinich Asks Supporters to Back Obama

Dennis Kucinich today asked his caucus goers to support Barack Obama.

He said his request is only for Iowa supporters as he intends to win in New Hampshire.

Obama's response:

He said he and Kucinich have fought for some of the same priorities, including ending the war in Iraq, reforming Washington and creating a better life for working families.

When Obama backs Kucinich's positions on the war on drugs, the death penalty, mandatory minimums and the Patriot Act -- even immigration-- then it might mean something. As of tonight, it's not a reason to switch to Obama vs. Edwards or Hillary.

Kucinich's Cheney Impeachment Bill Sent to Judiciary Committee

Can we please look forward instead of back? I don't want to waste time trying to impeach Dick Cheney or George Bush.

Let's spend our energy trying to get a better President and Vice President in 2008.

Both parties in Congress today played games with Dennis Kucinich's impeachment bill. It now goes to the Judiciary Committee where I bet it never sees the light of day or debate. KagroX at Daily Kos explains what happened.

Colorado Congresswoman Diana DeGette has just released this statement (no link, received by e-mail):
“Congressman Dennis Kucinich’s resolution raises important questions that require more than just 60 minutes of discussion on the House floor. That is why I voted to refer his resolution to the Judiciary Committee for the Committee to consider the measure through the regular process.”

I know many readers will disagree, but let's be practical. The time to impeach, if there was one, was after we learned Bush and Cheney lied about getting us into war in Iraq. It's too late now and counterproductive.

Obama to reboot his Iraq policy and rhetoric.

Cross-posted in Orange

Last week I implored Barack Obama to step up on Iraq.

On Wednesday of this week, he will be doing just that.

Context and what to look for below the fold.
