    Ruffian, kdog, and I went to BAM thid afternoon for a memorable performance by G. Rush in an adaptation of Gogol's story "Diary of a Madman.". Then Rush purportedly did the evening performance and flew to LA for the Academy Awards. Whew. Meanwhile, we were drinking Guinness near Times Sq.  Great fun.

    what a show.  If yu see one play this year, make sure G-Rush is in it.

    The performance was so enthralling I almost went mad right along with Poprishchin.  And in the company of such cool, classy ladies, who wouldn't feel like they are the King of Spain? :)

    I just discovered that I had downloaded the old YouTube video of Natalie Merchant and Michael Stipe from your old account that had it from 1993. I don't know why it makes me so happy, but it is just an awesome video. Hope it comes back to TalkLeft someday so others can enjoy it J.

    ...had seen a Danish TV series called THE KILLING, which is currently screening on the BBC (with subtitles).

    It's 20 one-hour episodes of a 20-day murder investigation in Copenhagen. It's being remade as a 13-episode series that will screen on AMC next year, but they changed the characters and locations to Seattle.

    Although it is not its purpose, the series highlights some dramatic differences between the criminal systems in Continental Europe and the US. In fact, I think it must have made the adaptation into a US-based drama extremely difficult.

    This is by far one of the nest if not THE best crime drama I've ever seen on TV and I am curious to find out if anyone else has seen it?

    ...and get BBC programming off the satellite dish. I thought the original version might have screened on AMC or bravo or one of the cable channels.

    If you can get your hands on the original version with English subtitles don't miss it. The BBC is selling a DVD as soon as the show ends its run, but I suppose it'll be coded for our our zone.

    Banksy's documentary.  Just watched it today, absolutely fascinating, very funny at moments.  I'll have to watch it again but it rocketing right to the top of my favorite documentaries, near Man on Wire.
