How a Real Department Of Justice Would Operate

James Comey, who we know primarily as the person who chose Patrick Fitzgerald, shows what integrity used to mean at the Department of Justice, as he describes two USA firings he was involved with:

comey comes across as a genuine, ethical, legal and governmental professional, which is probably precisely the reason why it was so important that comey be kept out of the loop... and i think we can all hazard a guess that it was also because they didn't want him to know that rove was working with goodling and sampson to remove those who weren't regarded as "loyal bushies" and to replace them with those who were... it's still astounding, however, that the #2 in the doj was cut out of such critical discussions... just more evidence of the megalomania - and paranoia - that characterizes bushco...

And, yes, I DO take it personally

It's just a taste of what we'll be getting come January 2009 when the Democrats take the White House and solidify their hold on Congress.

Who knows... maybe it'll be sooner. I have a stong feeling Dick Cheney will be stepping aside soon for health-reasons-to-spend-more-time-with-his-family. Then without that brain damaged old bastard to to fight his battles Little George may get a good beating.

Another clip from the same hearing... (none / 0) (#5)

This clip shows Comey (R-Utah) babbling on about nothing, in an obvious attempt to waste time.  I know this is a very common thing during these hearings, but this instance is just so awkward and awful... you have to see it to believe it.

There are other videos at the bottom - but they are outdated at this point.
