Saturday Links and Open Thread

Blog traffic is so slow on holidays. I'm going to try to give the gift of traffic through the holidays. For this morning:

  • Via Avedon Carol at Sideshow: Brooklyn Girl, guest blogging at PowerPop, lists the ten sexiest male rockers, with sample video clips. I would have added Jon Bon Jovi.
  • Grits for Breakfast writes about an expert who says drug sniffing dogs are wrong 48% of the time.
  • Ed at Captain's Quarters, a conservative blog, gives a preview of how they will attack Obama if he's the nominee: inexperience.
  • Capital Defense Weekly notes that the Death Penalty Information Center has released its 2007 Capital Punishment Report, available here (pdf.)

What are you reading or writing about this weekend? Let us know in comments, and please put urls in html format using the link button because otherwise they skew the site.

    Happy Holidays... (none / 0) (#1)

    Everyone.  Be safe.

Ghost of Christmas Present:  There is never enough time to do or say all the things that we would wish. The thing is to try to do as much as you can in the time that you have. Remember Scrooge, time is short, and suddenly, you're not here any more.

I'll be spending time with my family.

    a peaceful and joyful holiday.

At Injustice In Seattle I'll be writing a piece on the SPD's elite Anti-Crime Team that has been in the paper four times this year alone; twice for brutally attacking jaywalkers without identifying themselves, and twice for engaging in high speed shooting match pursuits through city streets without identifying themselves to the people they pursued or using their lights and sirens.

Seems they have quite a long history of misconduct and are staffed by people with criminal backgrounds.

At Technomadic Packratt I'm going to draw up a fun holiday photoshop.

At Guilty Until Proven Innocent I might do a piece on the use of plea bargains to frighten innocent victims of police misconduct into accepting reduced charges when they've actually done nothing wrong.

    Happy holidays everyone.

Remember not to drink and drive but if you must drink and drive see my cartoon here (posted at edgeing).

As John Lennon said "War is over if you want it".

Unconstitutional - war crimes - broke the law - etc

Too bad no AUSA will prosecute it, nor Congress

The rule of law is broken.

    The Constitution is dying.

At least a few stand up to regret it's passing
