Colorado: Undercover Cops Fail to Get Pot Shops to Sell to Minors

Those who feared Colorado marijuana stores would sell to minors should take a deep breath and relax. The Denver Post reports:

Authorities in Denver and Pueblo, working with regulators from the state Marijuana Enforcement Division, have conducted 20 undercover stings in which they see whether a store will sell pot to someone under 21. Sixteen of the compliance checks have occurred in Denver, home to most of the state's recreational marijuana stores.

So far, no store has sold to someone under 21 in the checks.

    Are you saying that if a state legalizes pot, it will be better for the kids?  In other owrds, keeping it illegal is "bad for the kids"?

    it will be harder for kids to get their hands on it in CO than it is in NY, for example.  Just as it is harder for kids to get their hands on booze in NY than it is to get their hands on reefer in NY since the NY reefer market is totally unregulated, while the alcohol market is well regulated.

    The budding industry seems to be starting well. I'm sure they knew that cops and DEA would be watching for slip ups from the pot shops.

    The prohibitionists can f*ck up three ways to Sunday for over 50 years, no accountability for wrong-doing, no expectations of positive results, not even any shred of common sense....but god forbid one pot shop make one mistake and the prohibitionists will point to it as proof that freedom is a terrible thing and CO's experiment with it is a disaster.

    Double standards on steroids.

    make most of their money off the high use core clientele, not some one time sale. They would be crazy to take any risk selling to a minor.

    With a requirement of 100% of recreational sales having the ID checked was there any doubt this sting would fail?

    Are kids who smoke reporting any problems getting weed? I kinda doubt that too.
