Time for a Gag Order on the Government in the Jared Loughner Case

Here come the Government leaks in the Jared Loughner case. The Washington Post reports:

In the weeks and days before the shooting rampage in Tucson, suspect Jared Lee Loughner surfed the Internet on his computer in what investigators believe was an effort to prepare for his alleged assassination attempt, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation said.

Loughner pulled up several Web sites about lethal injections and solitary confinement in prison, said the sources, who asked to be anonymous because the investigation is ongoing. He also viewed Internet sites about political assassins, according to an analysis of Loughner's computer that was completed by investigators last week, the sources said. (My emphasis.)

Prosecutors hope to use the information they have found on Loughner's computer, along with notes seized in his home, to indicate that Loughner, 22, was not insane and knew right from wrong.

This is outrageous. The Judge needs to slap a gag order on the Government and investigators immediately.

Pro Se Filing of the Day: Jonathan Lee Riches v. Jared Lee Loughner

Over the past year, we haven't covered a lot of the crazy lawsuits initiated by Jonathan Lee Riches. The man has sued everybody from Eliot Spitzer to Molly Ringwald. At some point, you get used to the drill. And there are always other crazy pro se litigants to write about.
But the embarrassment of riches in Riches's latest complaint should remind everyone why he is still the king of pro se whackjobs. On January 24th, he filed for a temporary restraining order against Jared Lee Loughner, the alleged shooter in the Tucson attacks.

This kid isn't going to see the light of day, ever.

I understand the concept of a fair trial, but this is going to be a media circus, complete with as many fame quenchers as humanly possible. The idea of a fair trial cannot exist in a case like this IMO.
