Bruce!

He's amazing. Best I've ever seen him. He starts with Tenth Avenue Freezeout. Tune in, don't miss this.

Update: I'm speechless. He's always good, but this just rocked. It also was the happiest halftime show I've ever seen. The adlibs were great. I'm about to watch it again. [More...]

The other songs: Born to Run, Working on a Dream and Glory Days.

"Boss time" indeed.

Update: The reviews are coming in. Bruce soared. Part II here, thanks to SOS in comments.

Condensed Bruce! I'm exhausted from watching.

    Ha - that was quite a slide. (5.00 / 0) (#5)

I think they should just stick with the straight up rockers. The pop and country stuff doesn't have the same energy, for me anyway.

At least that is the only way they will keep me watching halftime shows, if they care.

Hmmm, I gotta give it to U2 for their incredibly powerful performance in 2002 just four months after 9/11.

Bruce might get the Silver Medal, but it's close between him and Prince.

and really that was by accident because BTD told Jeralyn exactly when it would be on in another thread I was reading.
So best ever probably forever for me.
The closest I ever get to football is watching Friday Night Lights when I remember it's on.

Petty, Prince, and U2 were all fabulous but Bruce was 100% Bruce and NOTHING bests that.  :)

dvd will be available exclusively at Walmart, where Bruce and the E-street band are currently working on a deal.

    Nonetheless, the greatest show ever.

Very very bad. He should have known better.

I won't get hat latest Eagles album either, even though I heard it was pretty good, since it is exclusive to Walmart.

It's not like Bruce or the Eagles need the money. There is just no excuse for it.

    WALMART and EXCLUSIVE

sorry. It's a major bummer, coming from a working class hero. It also empowers Walmart's grip on cd distro.

fan, you liked the show; Springsteen just never did anything for me - although I think his lyrics are powerful - so, I thought it was just okay.  He's clearly lost a couple steps in the vocals department, has trouble hitting some of the notes, etc.

It had a lot of energy and passion - they sure looked like they were having a whale of a good time - I didn't hate it, but I'm just not a Springsteen fan, so it ws just sort of ho-hum for me.

As a relief from listening to Al Michaels and John Madden, though, it killed!

I almost always hate the national anthem at sporting events b/c it is a very difficult song that most professional singers do not have the voice for.  She nailed it.

Bruce is amazing - the energy he has.  I can't believe he'll turn 60 this year.  I saw him back in the 70s and I don't remember him being that energetic then.  He played for hours, but....

Same Fender with the finish worn down to the bare wood.  I think he's used that his entire career.

    And No LipSynching!

Big h/t to the crew - remember:  They put that very complicated stage together, got everyone (including a choir of hundreds) in, put on a 12 minute set, and broke it all down.  In 30 minutes.  (I'll bet they're union roadies.)

Just sayin':  I called the set list (though I had Born to Run out of order), right down to editing down 10th Avenue.
