If you thought Hillary Clinton doesn't have a sense of humor or takes herself too seriously, think again. Taking the role of flight attendant on "Hil Force One" from Las Vegas to Reno, she told the press corps on board:

"My name is Hillary and I am so pleased to have most of you on board," she said. "FAA regulations prohibit the use of any cell phones, Blackberries or wireless devices that may be used to transmit a negative story about me.
"In a few minutes, I am going to switch off the 'Fasten Your Seat Belt' sign. However, I've learned lately that things can get awfully bumpy when you least expect it — so you might want to keep those seat belts fastened.
"And in the event of an unexpected drop in poll numbers, this plane will be diverted to New Hampshire.

Once again, thank you for joining us on Hil Force One. We know you have choices when you fly, and so we are grateful that you chose the plane with the most experienced candidate.

Now why can't she stick to being this person and stop trying to be that other, less appealing Hillary? When she's confident enough to be herself (and I suspect that this Hillary is truer to character), she absolutely SHINES.

there are serious isseus to address and she takes them seriously. Why does she have to be cute with the press to get you to like her as a potential President?

or even likeable but about being human and decent. When she sends out surrogates to smear Obama racially, it's neither. When she lies about his social security proposals, it's neither. When she votes for a war based on political calculations, it's neither. But when she lets down her guard and does these sorts of things, she opens a window to her more human and decent side. I just wish that it was more frequent--and substantive.

No one doubts that she's a serious person. It's how she chooses to manifest this seriousness that bothers some of us.

Seriously, you seem to think that politics is about being "nice". It's not.

his or her comment - not "yours" as Kovie didnt write the orignal I was commenting on. I just assumed it was the orignal poster who obviously and rightly already lost interest. I have too.
