if that were actually true, half the republicans in congress would have to resign, on general principles. the reality is, who cares if sen. craig resigns? it isn't as though he was doing great things for his constituents in idaho, unless you count championing homophobia as a "great thing".

the only reason sen. craig's "evident sexual orientation" even matters, is because of the hypocrisy it demonstrates. oddly enough, it was hardly a "media fueled scandal", since the media ignored it, for the most part, for nearly 3 months after the fact. it wasn't until roll call, itself hardly a periodical of mass consumption, reported sen. craig's arrest and plea, that anyone even bothered to report it elsewhere.
